Columbus (2020): Boateng was acquired via a trade with D.C. United on August 14, 2020. He made ten appearances (three starts) for Crew SC. Boateng made his debut regular-season appearance for the Crew as a substitute at home against Chicago Fire FC (August 20), also coming on as a substitute on the road at New York City FC (August 24). He made a substitute appearance on the road at FC Cincinnati (August 29). The midfielder made a substitute appearance on the road against Chicago Fire FC (September 12). Boateng then made four consecutive appearances (two starts) starting October 3 through the October 18 match at home against New York City FC. He started on the road at the Houston Dynamo (October 24) before making a substitute appearance at D.C. United (October 28). In Audi 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs action, Boateng made two substitute appearances at home against Nashville SC (November 29) and against the New England Revolution (December 6).

D.C. United (2019-2020): The midfielder was acquired by D.C. United via a trade with the LA Galaxy on August, 7, 2019. He made three regular-season appearances for D.C. United.

LA Galaxy (2016-2019): Boateng signed with the Galaxy on January 14. During his time with LA, the midfielder made 108 regular-season appearances (65 starts), scoring nine goals while providing 13 assists.

Helsingborgs IF (2013-2016): Boateng made 37 appearances in the Swedish topflight, scoring four goals.

COLLEGE EXPERIENCE

A graduate of Ghana’s Right to Dream Academy, Boateng played collegiate soccer at the University of California, Santa Barbara during the 2012 season. In his lone season at UC Santa Barba, Boateng made 18 appearances, scoring four goals and providing two assists en route to receiving the Big West Freshman of the Year award while also being named to the First-Team All-Big West.
